J.
DANIEL McCONVILLE
Dan
joined Stevensons in 2009 from the corporate
department of a major Canadian law firm. His
practice areas include civil and commercial
litigation and class actions.
Dan
obtained his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa
and a Bachelor of Arts in international relations
and economics from Dartmouth College. During
his time in law school Dan worked for the Canadian
Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic and
the Public Interest Advocacy Centre researching
a variety of legal issues related to emerging
technology. Dan also worked as a research assistant
for professors Daniel Gervais and Michael Geist,
and was a senior editor on the Ottawa Law review.
Dan and a colleague presented a paper titled
"Apportionment of Fault and Contracts" to the
2005 County of Carleton civil litigation conference.
Dan
has experience in a wide variety of practice
areas and has represented clients in litigation
relating to real estate transactions, shareholder
disputes, and class actions.
Dan
is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Bar
Associations and the Advocates Society. He is
an avid hockey and tennis player, and he plays
golf on occasion.
